What is PM Awas Yojana Gramin Survey 2026?

The PM Awas Yojana Gramin Survey 2026, also known as the Awas Plus Survey, is a government campaign. Under this survey, officials visit villages to identify families who:

  • Do not have a permanent (pucca) house
  • Are living in broken or temporary (kutcha) houses

The selection of beneficiaries is based on SECC 2011 data and the new survey results. The aim is to ensure that only deserving and needy families receive benefits.

 Who Will Get Priority?

This scheme mainly targets the poorest rural families who do not have proper housing.

Priority is given to:

  • Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) families
  • Landless poor households
  • Families headed by women or widows
  • Families living in kutcha or damaged houses
  • People listed in SECC data

It is important to note that a family can get the benefit only once, so all details in the application must be correct.

 Payment in Three Installments

The financial assistance is not given at once. It is released in three stages directly into the beneficiary’s bank account:

  1. First installment – at the start of construction
  2. Second installment – during roof construction
  3. Final installment – after the house is completed

This ensures that the money is properly used for building the house. In some states, additional support is also provided through schemes like MGNREGA.

How to Check Your Name in the List?
